Making the change from Palacial Home to State of the Art Contemporary Home of the future
Having spent several months in Discusions with the owners of this home. Our client took on our services to change what was a tired 60`s built Family home on Ling Lane Into what is now one of the most spectacular homes in the country. The original layout consisted of many comparativly small rooms linked together but with no feeling to them nor any real means of it feeling like a family home. The brief was to create larger rooms with as much light gain as possible to bring a feeling of openess and mordern approach to todays hetic lifestyles where time is very important and feels more and more limited as each day passes by. So by having everything at your finger tips then time starts becoming a little more avaliable to relax in.
This 5 bedroomed house went through an incredibly change the external facades was retained and a few of the internal walls were left insitu but the rest was totally stripped out to maximise the potential of the avaliable space. We lowered the down stairs floors after removing the internal joists and oak floors and replaced them with a new internal concrete floor , insulated well above todays standards and then installed an wet underfloor heating system and topped the finishes with Thassos pure white Marble which looks like crushed ice when see close up.
The old master suite had 2 dressing rooms, 2 ensuite bathrooms and a double bedroom whilst we have kept the same overall space the rooms are much larger than original and we now have one Ensuite but it has the stunning creativity of a 6 star hotel with basaltina floors and partial wall coverings, all with underfloor heating, a shower thats 3 m plus long and 1500 wide which can be entered from 2 sides where you can then experiance the 600mm diameter showering from a Hans grohe Rain system along with 6 body jets to blow those cob webs away. But whilst you shower the floor is heated under the showering area to keep your toes warm and to dry the floors once showering has stopped. There are too many features to mention within this room but a Piece of glass seperates the shower from the master bedroom and once an elecric current is introduced the glass changes from opaque to clear so that you can listen to the ceiling speakers and watch the 42inch Bang and Olufsen Tv thats on the wall opposite you in the shower so you really can keep up with world events as you prepare for another day at work.
The bedrooms are also climate controlled with a state of the art air conditioning system thats all linked into the building controls which canbe operated from a single control remote that also operates the tv and hifi and when the darkness draws in the blinds can be lowered at the touch of a button.
The ground floor space is now open plan and is split into zones by carefully planned out furniture and sliding glass screens, so the rooms can be as spacious or cozy as you would like. Again all is linked into a lutron control systen to operate everything from the blinds to the gates into the property with a picture appearing onthe tvs if some one arrives at the entrence to the property.
Even the leisure areas are designed to be as relaxing and as efficient as possible with the new pool changing rooms also doubling up as a steam room by carefully internally splitting the room with glass screens so you can steam your self into a relaxed state or you can use the 2 raindance showers to wash away the pool treatments and then tan yourself in a state of the art tanning studio created out of the old sauna room.
All it takes is some thought and a positive mind and here we created a home fit for a king, Size is not the most important thing in life it is how we can utilise and enjoy the space were provided with but with Our expertise and your time Lifestyles etc can provide you with your Dreams as they really are only a phone call away.
